I’m not an expert on Siri, nor have I ever tried it, but it seems quite smart.
My question is, do people really use Siri, and other voice-activated systems found in Android (and Windows Phone?) when they’re in public? I mean, imagine being in a bar all by yourself. You’re enjoying a cappuccino and a pastry, and you’re thinking about what to do on the weekend. Will it rain? Simply enough, you take your phone to check the weather. Right out of the blue, you say “What is the weather forecast for Rome?”, or something to that effect. The phone will answer.
Perhaps it’s just me – I don’t even like talking to answering machines/voicemail – but having a conversation with an object doesn’t feel… right.
